Welcome to Heartstrings Quilts!

Hi everyone!  I'd like to welcome you to Heartstrings Quilts,
formerly known as Phoenix Quilts!

I'd love for you to take a minute or two and take a look at the blog
to see what changes have been made!

I'm sure there are some questions you'll have as you look around.  Let me see if I can answer some of those questions for you . . .

1.  Why did you change the name from Phoenix Quilts to Heartstrings Quilts?

I changed the name for two reasons:  Many people asked if I was in Phoenix, Arizona.  I was asked if I had a quilt store in Phoenix and if quilts could be dropped off there.  I live in Utah, so this was a little confusing to people.  Some just didn't understand the name.  The biggest reason why I changed the name to Heartstrings Quilts is because we have increased the types of families we are donating quilts to.

2.  Who are you going to be donating quilts to now?

Phoenix Quilts donated quilts to families who were affected by wildfires.  With your help and generosity, we were able to do amazing things in helping these people, and I know it was greatly appreciated!  But, I want to increase the number of people that we reach out to (like we did with Hurricane Sandy)!  As events have happened that have tugged at my "heartstrings," I realized I wanted to donate quilts to people that have been affected by man-made tragedies and natural disasters.  I felt that a new name was needed to include everyone that our quilts would be going out to.

3.  Why have you added receiving blankets and pillowcases as possible donations?

I felt that by only accepting quilts, I was leaving out some who would like to donate something, but maybe a quilt was too much for them.  By accepting quilts, receiving blankets, and pillowcases, everyone who would like the opportunity to help others will be able to!

I think other questions you have may be answered by looking through the tabs above.  Over the next few days, I will be posting about other exciting changes we are implementing!  Of course, you are always welcome to leave a comment or send me an e-mail to HeartstringsQuilts@gmail.com!

PLEASE go to the link on the right and enter your e-mail so you can receive updates about all the incredible things we're doing and how you can help!  Also go to our Facebook page and "Like" us to be kept up-to-date!

Thank you for all you've done in the past to help so many people! I look forward to continuing working with you in bringing some comfort to those in need with the love and peace only a homemade quilt can give!

From my heart to yours . . .

  1. You may not be aware that there is another charity quilt project by the same name of Heartstrings. Mary Johnson is the coordinator and this group has been in place for several years. The website is:
http://heartstringsquiltproject.com This may cause some confusion to those searching for either one of the groups by the same name. Just an FYI--

  2. I didn't think you were still doing this. I have sent quilts before and I am glad to know you are still helping others. I will be checking back.
